Germany wants the European Union and the United States to launch free trade deal talks to abolish industrial tariffs, Germany’s transatlantic coordinator Peter Beyer told Reuters on Monday.

“Germany and the US should jointly push for a World Trade Organization (WTO) reform to get China to play by international trade rules, violations must be sanctioned,” the official added. “Germany wants Europe and the US to join forces in climate protection by aiming for transatlantic emissions trading system.”
