CTFC files charges against cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX

The United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CTFC) filed on Thursday a civil enforcement action in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The commission accused five entities and three individuals involved with the cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX of getting over $11 billion worth in Bitcoin and more than $1 billion in extra fees that it is suspected to be illegal.

Accused people and firms are BitMEX company owners Arthur Hayes, Ben Delo, and Samuel Reed, and HDR Global Trading Limited, 100x Holding Limited, ABS Global Trading Limited, Shine Effort Inc Limited, and HDR Global Services (Bermuda) Limited (BitMEX).
